Max Blumenthal – Video: Rapture Ready, the Christians United for Israel convention

Max Blumenthal is just fantastic, as usual. His approach, halfway between deadpan and ironic, always allows the persons interviewed to feel free to express themselves, and the platform he offers them provides us with an image that we have to see and try to understand.
Christian Zionists are a very strange reality. Fundamentalists whose greatest desire is to see the destruction of the universe so that the Lord can sort out the good (them) from the bad (everyone who is not them), their influence is often underestimated and their mania is certainly not taken with the degree of attention it merits due to the dangerous implications it entails.
CUFI claims membership soaring above 50 million members. FIFTY MILLION people who believe that the purpose of their faith is to bring the world to the most rapid closure possible. The sooner the better, and tomorrow won't be a day too soon.
We've written about CUFI here: http://palestinethinktank.com/2009/02/14/religious-political-cults-and-israel/ and here: http://peacepalestine.blogspot.com/2007/12/christians-united-for-israel-summit-and.html.
But, as they say, seeing is believing, and Max lets us see a bit of what goes on at the CUFI convention… before they make him leave, that is… "Rapture Ready" is a MUST SEE VIDEO! Max is the man!

Mary, No sound with this video! I tried everything, but no sound whatsoever. It is a classic, and must be disseminated.
Gerald, my sound works perfectly. Try clicking it again.
From 2.40 it is CLASSIC … I have watched it 3 times now, and laugh out loud each time. "are you Jewish, your name is Blumenthal." "yes, I'm Jewish". "Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ?" "well, I'm Jewish".
amazing.
"I'm looking forward to Armageddon," that says it all, unbelievable. Then there is their erroneous beliefs about Islam, this is the ideology we must deal with, the misconceptions and bigotry of rural America.
This so aptly captures the insane justification to substantiate their 'we are superior' premises and agendas. Well heeled, ignorant minions. Oh ya, couch it in inclusion, we are one brotherhood, you (Jews) are just late to the party. You'd think they'd eschew it. I am neither Christian nor Jew, I follow no 'party' lines. But then an attack on Islam, bs, a moment to remind them, "Judge Not!" For certainly this is not an estimable discernment, but blatant prejudice. IMHO, this is why organized religion continues to exist, power and greed. If pure teachings were actually disseminated and embraced, would there be a desire for all of this? Humans must evolve beyond the 'I win' concept. BTW, it's 'We Win'.
excuse please, I'd like to amend a phrase… from, "why organized religion continues to exist, power and greed." to, 'why organized religion continues to exist, power, greed and fear.' thank you.
