The Palestinian Trio of Arafat, Abbas and Qurai should have known when they proceeded to negotiate and sign Oslo that Oslo was nothing about peace and nothing about ending the Israeli/Jewish Occupation. Oslo was doomed from the very start. It was doomed because it was every thing about salvaging of what is left of ruined, failed, corrupt and mismanaged liberation organization. It was doomed to fail because it has nothing to do with the will and needs of people for freedom and liberty and it has every thing to do with savaging the personal, financial and leadership fortunes of Arafat, Abbas and Qurai. All three conspired with Israel to abort the First Intifada, the best chance we had to end the Jewish Occupation, and conspired to relieve Israel of its financial and legal obligations as an occupying power. It seems that even the negotiating team with some PhD holders failed to understand the legal implication of Israeli failure to ever refers to the Palestinian areas as “occupied” rather kept referring to the Palestinian areas as “disputed” or the “territories” or “Judea and Samaria”. Thanks goodness the peace process came to an end, a process that saw the settlements grow to 150% since Oslo. Perhaps there is hope now that the leadership that lead the Palestinians from one failure to another from one defeat to another may have the sense of decency to quit. Enough of this reckless, irresponsible and failed leadership. Leave it to Fatah the Palestinians will now have leaders like Dahlan and Abed-Rabou. The PLO /Fatah will not end until it meets its commitment to deliver whatever left of Palestine to Israel through negotiations.

seriously............if either Azmi Bishara or Hanan Ashrawi had the courage. I have read and understand that Palestinians living in Palestine really don't want a one state (that is basically what they have)

This leaves the field wide open for another to ascend. Who will become Chairman of the Palestinian Authority? Is this a viable institution for progressing to statehood? Is the one-state solution the only way forward?

Will Gilad Atzmon accept a nomination?

Will Ali Hasan Abunimah?

Who has the gravitas?

Who has the guts?
