There are indicators that arafat in '93 had not behaved much, if at all, differently than does abbas today. We need to study also how and why fatah dealt as he did with israel before abbas took over fatah and formed PA.

I do still recall how dismayed i had been when oslo accords were signed. I saw only badness coming out of it for pal'ns.
But in year 2000, clinton's diktat had nevertheless been rejected by arafat.

When and if the next diktat; oops, generous offer comes around, it wld be rejected, i firmly expect! And that's, to me, the bottom line.

We may toy with the idea that that palestina will never ever rise. We need to consider the notion that israeel did not go to war in '67 in order for her to return any conquest.
It seems, conquest of all or parts of palestine can be returned only by war. And only when that happens can the expelees and those who ran for dear life return to their beloved land in which their multiethnic ancestors settled starting, let's say, 10hk yrs ago.

To me, even those [how few/many?] who ran away for life are also expelees and not refugess or displaced people.
Btw, chomsky in his fourth emai to me, finally admits that only people who were expelled in '48 can return.
That means, only people who are now 62+ yrs of age can return, but without their children and he leaves out whether there wld be a house for them available if they ever return.

The lesson here is that if one forever writes about what s/he's against and never says what s/he's for, u know then that person is hiding s'mthing.
It is best to err on safety side: possibly one 'jew' in 10k is for a win-win result in expalestine; most being for a win-loss result at the expense of pal'ns. tnx

This is not the first nor will it be the last betrayal by the Palestinian leadership of the PLO. The process started long time when all members of the Executive Committee and the PNC sat on their heads and brains in silence and never questioned or challenge Arafat the dictator and never demanded accountability and transparency of leaders and decisions. The Executive Committee and the PNC sat on their heads and brains and never demanded full accounting of the billions lost or disappeared into the accounts of the leadership. The Executive Committee and the PNC sat on their heads and brains and never demanded a full investigations of the crimes committed against our people in Tal-Zaater, in Sabra and Shatilla and demand open investigations into all internal fights that lead to the deaths of thousands of our people. We too as people sat on our heads and brains and never demanded full inquiry into the forced exiles of 350,000 Palestinians from Kuwait and the role Arafat and the PLO played in this tragedy. We all sat on our brains and head and never challenged the PLO leadership when it went ahead and aborted the excellent work being done by the late Dr. Haider Abul-Shafi and never demanded to know why Arafat needed his spies such as Nabil Sha’ath who was dispatched to Washington to keep an eye on someone more honorable than the entire PLO combined. We remained silent as the PLO signed Oslo, and we remained silent as we saw Arafat Palestinian Authority organize its Security Forces into thugs and gangs who terrorized people and ran a racketeering protection racket. We sat in silent while we saw Arafat Preventive Security becomes a total servant of the Israeli security and its partner. We sat in silence while we saw nothing but corruption, incompetence and billions disappear from public treasury. We sat in silence while we saw key leaders of Fatah; especially the top commands of the Preventive Security collaborate with Israel against our people and cooperate in the total siege of Gaza. We sat in silent while we knew Fatah was in full cooperation with Israel and the US in instigating a campaign of terror and kidnapping leading to Hamas takeover of Gaza. We are the one responsible for such failure; we are the ones who are responsible for the miserable disgusting situation we are in. It is not the leadership that betrayed us, it we who betrayed our self and our cause. There is nothing that prevents our people from marching on Ramallah and kicks all of the leadership out and forces them to take political assaylum with their partners in Tel-Aviv. Shame on us as people we lack the courage to stand up for our rights and our dignity and we are responsible for all this failure, not the leadership. If these crooks, liars and collaborators knew that our people have the backbone and the courage to hold them accountable they will never dare to betray us. The leaders know no one dare to hold them accountable and responsible for their failures and betrayal and if they knew they will pay for it, perhaps with their lives they would have given it a second thought, but then the leadership know our people too well. We simply have no backbones and no courage to stand up for us.
