Iconic photo of Iranian protester is faked: reveals Italy's most conservative mainstream paper

By Mary Rizzo • Jun 29th, 2009 at 20:35 • Category: Counter-terrorism, No thanks!, Hasbara Deconstruction Site, Newswire, Resistance

There is a picture circulating on the web, framed perfectly. It depicts an Iranian girl doing an unlikely American gesture, a striking parallel to the picture of a solitary Chinese youth standing in front of tanks at Tienanmen Square in Beijing. We can expect to see this picture soon everywhere on Internet.

None other than Corriere della Sera, Italy’s major mainstream newspaper, and one that is quite conservative regarding anything with the Middle East – says the picture is a photo montage, and shows the original picture: a picture of a girl standing in front of Ahmadinejad's car, date and reason unknown, with an open hand, perhaps simply greeting Ahmadinejad. They even comment on the smiling face of the Iranian leader. http://www.corriere.it/esteri/09_giugno_28/iran_foto_simbolo_9cc7d8b4-63ed-11de-baf4-00144f02aabc.shtml

The fake picture was put on Youtube by Secondoprotocollo, which appears to be a very active Italian NGO, with offices in several countries. However, to get to the bottom of things, sometimes all it takes is to look a notch farther down the pole. Just a regular web search engine will lead one to find a critical site, which claims that Secondoprotocollo is a one-man job, entirely run by a certain Franco Londei, and which accuses Secondoprotocollo of having repeatedly made false reports and claims, especially taking photos at random from the web and claiming they represent activists of Secondoprotocollo in dangerous parts of the world.

The critical site appears to be well documented, and I have come across no systematic refutation of the accusations made by the critical site. Others have written (in Italian) about him in the past, and this is the site that seems to know quite a lot about his activities:  http://primoprotocollo.altervista.org/index.php . Obviously, I’m not a researcher, and I leave all of that to those who have the time and the expertise, but it certainly does make one wonder. I know nothing of the person, his “movement” nor his aims, and if there is something that people could share to in one way or another bring more light to this strange situation, we welcome the information.

  1. Just distraction and none credible Western propaganda. During the reign of the Shah the same and more
atrocities have been committed and this wasn't even reported in the US.

I don't like religion at all – it is the fig leave for violence and the people who hide behind it are mostly greedy
bastards without any concern for the human race.

  2. HI Mary,

First of all congratulations are in order for your new site, it is swish, quick, and very nice, and the outstanding content as ever, well done there.

    The latest data released by the Iranian Electoral Commission are as follows;

1- The “Third Green Wave” candidate ie Mousavie had appointed 40,600 that is forty thousands, and six hundreds electoral observers, whom were attending the polling stations throughout Iran, and observing the elections. Although Mr. Makhmalbaf who is the spokesperson of the Candidate Mousavie was not happy for these observers only to be observing with in the polling stations, he wanted the observers to accompany the voters into the individual booths and witness these voting!! (this in effect nullifies the secret ballot nature of the elections)

2- Also the ten percent recount of the total of the votes cast at random across Iran, which the Candidate Mousavie has rejected time and again, and has been continuing to ask for a re election. The results of these recounts, which in any scientific survey is as good as counting each vote individually, have been coming thorough in at least in three provinces with an increased Majority in favour of Dr. Ahmadinejad, and in Quome the results have held as per the initial results announced (this is very important because Rafsanjani was in Qoume trying to find backers for his coup d'etat).

3- The electoral commissioner, complaining about the reckless aspersions of the defeated Candidates on the electoral processes, admonished these candidates for belittling the efforts of six hundred thousand workers, and personnel involved in the elections, and such unjust questioning of these hard-working group's integrity. Furthermore, pointing out that the complaints registered, by the candidates had been so general, and lacking in detail which had resulted in some of the representatives of candidates to be so uncomfortable and these have refrained from attending the various meetings since lodging the perceived wrongs and hearsay as evidence of wrong doing.

4- The electoral commissioner further clarified his remarks by citing the following example; Candidate Mousavie representatives have maintained; some of the ballot boxes were already filled with votes, before delivering these to the various stations. This unjust and reckless contention discounts the fact that sixteen electoral observers witness the empty boxes getting tagged, and set in place in the relevant polling station, and fact that the candidate's representatives were late in turning up for the tagging and setting of the boxes, is a matter that candidate should address within his own operations, and cannot take these tardy attendees as any sign of impropriety, the commissioner went on to add elections are too serious for these to be delayed and stand in waiting for the sake of the representatives of one or more candidates making their way to the polling stations as and when these felt doing so.

These are contemporaneous data relayed to me by someone whom can read and speak Farsi, and whom has read the relevant news sites, and provided me with these synopsis.

  7. Hi Mary…..Here is a website I found in Italian – which may give you some clue about the Secondoprotocollo.
As for as I can figure out from the logo of "Save Darfur" – the site must be a part of Zionist campaign against Sudanese government. 'Save Darfur", according to Israeli daily Ha'artez is brainchild of pro-Israel Jewish lobby groups in the US.

Totally agree. It is not possible to fool all the people (world) all the time. Yet they desperately try. May they taste their own medicine soon.

  10. You can't expect a country that has turned Iraq into America's Palestine, broke several hand-over date promises during Bushes vacation time in the Whitehouse, spent the last several years making up one story after the other to try and get the world to jump on the "let's all hate Iran now" bandwagon, steal it's own Whitehouse (twice) from the American public, a press that prefers to exploit Michael Jacksons kids for the next couple of weeks to give Madoff's accomplices cover and enough clear time to hide themselves and the trail to the rest of the stolen money and then not think it won't use computers to make it look like something it isn't?

As far as the press goes, with all it's resources and wealth and satellite hook-ups and instant information confirmation and thousands of staff, it has proven itself to be a 100% accomplice in the crimes against humanity. As has the do-nothing backseat UN.

America is broken. Some say it's suppose to happen in order to get this great big happy one world government family holding hands around the world. But from what some others say, it's only gonna get worse, because that's how it's suppose to go. Well, it's here.

  11. I am an American, and though most Americans at this point are ignorant sheep, that believe anything the jew controlled media tells them, there are many like me that know the truth. We know that our government has been taken over by criminals, that with the help of the zionists attacked and killed 3000 Americans on 911. We know that they started 2 wars based on lies, and have murdered tens, if not hundreds of thousands. All the while they turn a blind eye to the war crimes being committed against the imprisoned Palestinians in Gaza.

As for Iran, it is a well know fact that the CIA has manipulated events in Iran for decades, and were most certainly involved in the most recent unrest. It would not surprise me a bit if the Neda photo was fake, or if she was killed, might very well have been the CIA or Mossad. It' s what they do.

I would ask that the American people not be judged by the actions of our government, as they no longer represent the will of the people. We are a most propagandized people, who have been lied to for a long time. In reality, America lost it's greatness a long time ago. Please remember there are many of us that are fighting for truth and justice the best we can, and are praying for the Palestinians, the Iraqi people, the Iranian people and everyone else that has been victimized by the US, and their evil ally israel. May peace find us all.

  12. Keep on publishing – over time more and more people will become aware of the duplicity, hypocrisy, treason and murder perpetrated by our 'elites'. It will take time but ordinary, honest individuals will make the difference ultimately. To Hank, many of us in the UK are also aware of these lies, distortions and ommisions – we are with you; all we can do is keep researching and pointing people to the real evidence from the myriad of sources out there!

  13. RE: Hank's reply.

Well said sir. Unfortunately in todays "America" you would be labelled an anti-semite and a crackpot patriot. We live in a black is white World now, where 2 + 2 = 5. The USA, UK, and Israel (or at least their "intelligence / military / political arms") are the 3 biggest terrorist nations by far, all of which are controlled by some dark force that has been politely labelled "zionist international bankers". Whoever / whatever they are I don't exactly know, but they completely run the show as they outright own the media, politicians, economies, of 90% of the countries on this planet. The wealth, control, and technology these entities have can no longer be comprehended by the vast majority of the population. I can't even convince my own Dad about the chemtrails being sprayed above our heads almost daily, despite the fact they are right there in plain site. Forget talking about flouride, vaccines, microchips, 9/11, etc. So, what hope do we the people have???

Due to the inability of the populace to understand or unite, I think we have only 3 areas of hope:
    1) These criminal elite implode due to infighting amongst themselves. Possible.
    2) Groups of highly trained / organised militia who really understand the issues take action because they have had enough of the evil agendas and harming innocent people. Possible.
    3) Some "off-planet" force intervene on our behalf. Completely unknown.

    Let's cross our fingers.

  14. To Dr F and others here that seek truth and like to share with others. There is an excellent blog called Smoking Mirrors. I recommend it highly. Hope to see you there as well.

  15. Thanks for the comments, everyone! reading them, though little time to interact.
    Smoking Mirrors is indeed great.
