Layla,
I come from Europe and have absolutely nothing to do with THe Middle East.
However, my Iraqi Jewish friends told me that their parents were forced out from Iraq by the Jewish Agency to make the numbers in the new country. They had no intention to leave as they were running legitimate buisnesses and they felt Jewish Iraqis. They had no choice and had to leave because their lives were threatened. Some people got killed.
Now, I know my Jewish friends. But I do not know you. Whom I have to believe?

uruknet publishes her (his?) writings on a daily basis and then her (his?) gang ("steve in vista", "safiya", "eyehateu2", "paul", "km", "mesopotamian", …) leave supportive comments for her.

Layla is trying her (his?) best to make the Iranian-American-Israeli conspiracy triangle seem real.

I cannot understand why uruknet publishes her writings, some of which are full of hatred and rudeness towards Iranians and/or shi'ites.

unfortunately "Layla Anwar" is not the only source of hatred being propagated towards Iran, through uruknet. It seems to be on the agenda of this website.

Layla Anwar speaks NOT for all the Arabs or Muslims, she speaks only for herself

And most certainly, she does NOT speak for me as an Arab and Muslim woman.

Nationalism is a disease; it fosters prejudice, bigotry and racism
But the problem is that layla advocates more than nationalism, she advocates hatred and detestation. She campaigns for superiority of her Iraqi nationality, which is really sad and troublesome to see. And she campaigns tirelessly to lay the blame on Iran and the Shiite Muslims rather than the true perpetrators of genocide in the Middle East

Layla’s constant beating of the drums of hatred against Iran, and her continuous attack and propaganda about the “secret Iranian agenda” to control the Middle East is very sinister and suspicious indeed. It serves two ominous purposes:

1) firstly: it deflects the attention from the major root problem of the destabilization in the M.E. namely the Zionists AGENDA and ACTIONS.

2) secondly: it appears as a justification and validation of the advancement of the neocon agenda of attacking the “evil” Iran.

I am not in a position to judge layla’s intentions, or why she is doing this, is it deliberate? Or is mere anger and distorted personal views?
I worry though, about the effects of such writings on some who might –in their admirable support of Iraq- be mislead by layla’s attitude.

I am also saddened to see such propaganda of hate and sectarianism in such a great website

Dear Layla, I understand your bitterness, but I'm not so sure that angloamericans have interest to keep the status quo with Iran.
Since the Iran-Iraq war, it seems that their interest, and the one of Israel, was to see that both sides were weakened as much as possibile; that's why they sold arms to Iraq openly and to Iran undercover of the Iran-Contra agreement.
And then, they have begun to exploit the factions one against the other, in Middle East as much as in former Yugoslavia, where they exploited independentist factions and even al-Quaeda combatants against the only unitary and legitimate governement.
This does not mean that they were grateful to al-Quaeda combatants, but at the end of balkan wars they have favourised in their puppet governments in the region the passing of laws which condemn former al-Quaeda combatants to expulsion.
They use any ally who is useful and then they are ready to drop him in the mud, if it's not more useful or of embarrassment.
The goal is always the same: "Divide and conquer".
In Iraq you are experimenting the same intentional abetting of sectarian fighting, and the intention is to reduce Iraq as former Yugoslavia or former Somalia or Sudan: a split state divided under sectarian or ethnical lines.
It's far much easier to have to do with 3 smaller and weaker states, for example, South Somalia, Puntland and Somaliland than with a strong unitary government in Mogadishu, or with Kurdish Iraq, Sunni Iraq and Shiite Iraq, than with a stronger government in Baghdad, and they are doing it.
Only two or three days ago Netanyahu has said during his visit in Europe that peace in the middle east will be possible only with a weaker Iran.
As they have appeased with sunnis in Iraq and Iran is becoming too strong in Iraq, they need to redimension it and to redimension shiites, with the help of sunnis and the economic support of gulf states.
If you take a look to any political article on gulf states' or egyptian newspapers, you won't have diffucilty to find sentences like this: "shiites are trying to do proselitism in sunni countries", or "The mobilization of shiite communities, instigated by iranian agents"; take a look for example on Al-Sharq al-awsat.
And a huge amount of arms is sold to gulf states, and they give even trainers for arab jet pilots or support for nuclear programs of sunni states.
And what about te new base of french army in the gulf?
And what about the removal of mujaheddin-e-khalq from the list of terrorist organizations favourised by UK and adopted recently by the EU?
Do you remember that Saddam Hussein was accused of hosting terrorists BECAUSE he hosted them?
Why now they are no more terrorists, as they continue terrorist or destabilization activities inside Iran?
And look to the situation of the Middle East North Africa in the complex; are the destabilizations of: Somalia, Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and now of Iran isolated cases, or are they part of a broader "mince and conquer" strategy?
In a film about Herod, this king decided to condemn to death four soldiers, so he asked to the first to kill the second, then he asked the third to kill the first, then asked to the fourth to kil the third, so he had to kill by himself only one soldier, with less effort.
Do you see what I mean?
So, I hope that you will see your fellow countrymen on a more positive light, and the strategy behind the sectarianism for what it is really.

What the Zionists and their American lackeys have perpetrated on the people of Iraq is one of the greatest crimes committed in human history. It boggles the mind to think of the sadism and the scale of the destruction: human, ecological, cultural and economic, and all for what? So that a rogue terrorist regime of land-thieves, racists and murderers can feel 'secure'?

That being said, and because of my deep appreciation as a regular reader of this site, I'm very sorry to say I was dismayed to see a guest post by Layla Anwar here. We Arabs and Muslims (I am Arab but not Muslim) are not only suffering from the obvious Zionist-led conspiracy to occupy our lands, oppress our people and steal our resources, but from a more insidious conspiracy to divide us along narrow ethnic/sectarian lines and to incite us to perceive each other as enemies — to "Zionize" all of us. Having had the misfortune to read many of Anwar's essays, I've been disturbed by her vitriolic hatred of Shi'ites and Iran, without whom, for example, we would today be campaigning to "end the occupation" of Lebanon, and possibly Syria as well. But according to Anwar, the Shi'ites and Iran are the very impersonation of Evil. In the face of all clear evidence to the contrary, she keeps peddling the poisonous agitprop that all Shi'ites are but tools of Iran, and that Iran in turn is a partner in Zionist machinations in the Middle East.

She claims to be an Iraqi and an Arab patriot, yet it is she who relentlessly seeks to inflame the very ethnic/sectarian conflicts that form such a central pillar of zionist plans for the decimation of Iraq (and not only Iraq) at least as far back as Oded Yinon's infamous essay "A Strategy for Israel in the 1980s".

I think those who run this site have shown that you are very savvy with regards to some treacherous infiltrators who seek to promote a zionist agenda while pretending to support justice for our people, but apparently not all of them register on your radar.

I honestly don't know who she 'really' is, and what's behind Anwar's vicious malevolence towards Shi'ites, all Shi'ites, regardless of their affiliation, of whether they are brave resistance fighters fighting and making incredible sacrifices alongside their compatriots or paid mercenary collaborator thugs, regardless of which country they belong to, whether Arab or not — but in my view, the sort of unambiguously racist incitement that saturates all too many of her truly toxic writings marks her, at least as far as I'm concerned, as a dangerous enemy from "within". I for one find it repulsive and frightening, and I'm genuinely disappointed that she has been given space in this excellent site to spew her ugly rantings.

I hope you will accept this in the spirit it was written and will take a closer look at what Anwar writes, what her true objective seems to be, and what such an objective means for those of us living in this region and beyond.
