To begin with – I must admit that both Rahbar Ayatullah Ali Khamenei in his today’s Friday Khutba (English translation in two video at the bottom of this post) and the professional Israeli Hasbara liars‘ comments posted on internet even before he finished his Khutba – did not disappoint me. As expected from a religious scholar, who was elected President of Islamic State of Iran, twice, by the highest majority votes in the democratic history of Iran – before being chosen as Rahbar of Islamic Revolution after the death of Imam Khomeini. Ayatullah Ali Khamenei in his Friday Khutba, advised Iranians to end the street protests over last week’s election and submit their complaints through proper channel instead of playing in the hands of the enemies of Iran. He rejected opposition and western claims that the election was rigged and praised the ballot as an “epic moment that became an historic moment (85% voters participated in the election).”...

I'm disappointed with how the reformers are dealing with this. Reform should be based on rationality where is the rationality here?! It is just an election and they know that the political struggle with others is never resolved like this, they should know better. I didn’t hear a clear denouncing of foreign interference (I just read of press TV Germany asked for a recount!) or that of violence, the infiltrators are burning mosques and people’s places. The people who are dying are far more valuable than their political interests, seriously shame on them for pursuing something that even if in the end it works it will cause a huge part of the Iranian society who obviously are not with Mousavi since till now only a certain place in Tehran is witnessing this are not going to like him very much.

Barbara, I am unable to read the text on that page (a colour perception problem where I can't read some things on a black field unless the contrast is great) I was only able to look at the photos.

I believe you are lumping in many symbols together. Allow me to try to lend a hand (pun!)
the symbol you show is actually several different symbols.
with the thumb also extended is a symbol present in the Hawaiian surf culture, meaning, hang loose, let it go, I'm in control, etc.
the symbol without has many meanings.
1) in Europe it is "le corne" which means "cuckold" and is interpreted in lots of ways. a) to prevent "bad luck", so that if i have a symbol that I am cuckolded, it won't happen and the evil eye is cast off. Being the victim of infedelity is one of the most serious accusations in southern europe, and using that sign wards off the negative slander ... it's illogical, but this is the symbol.
b) directed towards another (with the sound "tiè!" Take That! ) it casts your own wishes of bad luck on them.
2) in the US, grab the bull by the horns, "more power to you! You will win!" etc.
3) i have no idea what it might mean in oriental cultures. So therefore, don't propose an interpretation of it.

btw, love your site!

The things I have just noted upon rewriting to question or comment upon.

First the reactions of the Canadian ambassador. Speaking as a Canadian, this man will be not much more than a mouthpiece of the Zionists. Unfortunately our government has begun to act and sound as hardline and pro Israel and the American government and has signed a pact or two with Israel behind the backs of the citizens. So I can guarantee you his words are from his Zionist advisers. Might I add, this situation is of great sorrow and embarrassment to any Canadian who loves his country.

Regarding the Americans and the bombs. Who are they? Will we find out more about them? Are they in any way affiliated with the government or are they lone trouble makers? Were they serving as agents provocateurs or their own interests?

And a comment. Several years ago I found a photograph of Ahmadinejad making the indecent sign of Satan. Call me a fool, but that is not a natural way to hold the fingers and he was definitely sending a message to someone. This sign is usually given to indicate to those in the know the message of "mission accomplished" and I have documented its use by many world leaders and Satanists, as well as others involved in some aspect of service to the NWO. I have the photo posted at this address:

http://snippits-and-slappits.blogspot.com/2009/01/this-is-well-known-greeting-of-one.html
UPDATED ~ SATAN'S HAND SIGN ~ EVERYWHERE

As a result, I have often wondered just who this man ultimately serves. The men who put him into power in the first place? Because elections, sad as it is, are rarely determined by the voters as most of us are aware.

And what are the chances Mossad does not have its filthy fingers in this pie? They certainly do everywhere else. Just a few afterthoughts and questions from this unenlightened reader.

Cyrus Gilani, just where does Palestine enter this situation? Or this writing? I truly don't understand your venom towards this beleaguered nation. Is it because of the author's nationality? Hot heads never solve anything except show they are fools.

Thank you. I did not follow this story for the first two days and by then it was almost impossible to figure out. Your impeccable break down has put things into perspective and given me a good grasp of the whole situation there. I am sure, of course, there are stories within stories that will leak out later but this, for now is excellent. Thank you once again for concise reporting of superior caliber.

<a href='#comment-9753' rel="nofollow">@ioana</a> -

excellent point, Ioana.

here is a comment I left on Mondoweiss

Jeff is a good friend and we agree on much. I will not enter into the fine points of what he knows or thinks, since there is a possibility that one can NOT see the demonstrations as natural and can see them as colour revolutions with heavy external intervention, and at the same time NOT back Ahmadinejad.

please see the following: http://www.the-diplomat.com/article.aspx?aeid=580... excerpted below.

The US Department of State’s 2005 allocation of $75 million for “democracy promotion” was seen by the Iranians as a “dirty tricks” fund, with some of that money funding democracy-promotion workshops in neighbouring countries where anti-regime Iranian activists are coached in how to peacefully overthrow their government. However, the reality of overthrowing the Iranian regime is far more complicated, with many analysts believing that Iran will be a tough nut to crack.

“Georgia and the Ukraine had many of the preconditions, including a wildly unpopular president who was still held in high esteem by the West,” says Christine Quirk, an Istanbul-based democracy transition consultant. “The opposition in both countries used stolen elections as a pretext to bring good old-fashioned political organising together with people’s outrage at the blatant abuse of political power. What both also have in common is assistance from the Serbian youth group Otpor, which is also advising Iranian activists,” she says. “Other than help from Serbian youth, I’m not convinced Iran has much in common at all with Georgia and Ukraine.”

<a href='#comment-9750' rel="nofollow">@Cyrus Gilani</a> -
what has the Palestinians' fate got to do with anyone's opinion about what is going on in Iran right now? One should stand against any kind of violence or manipulation, instead of trying to oppose Iranians' cause to that of the Palestinians.
There is lot of manipulation in Iran these days, and there is lot of violence, too. The Iranian authorities should not deal their problems by using violence against the protesters. But from the very beginning of the protests in Iran, I remembered the so called "Twitter Revolution" in Moldova (April 2009) - there, the protests began as well after the results of the elections, which favored the communists. Of course there had been irregularities in the elections (but those happen also in Romania), but I wondered why the protests had only started after the elections. Then, the communists started to infuse the protesting masses with agitators who started attacking the official buildings and even put the Romanian flag on the roof of the Parliament building (I think). Things didn't go further, there were lots of arrests and young people beaten and killed, and the Moldavian president used it all to accuse Romania of meddling. Russia followed suit. Of course I can't know what happened, but one thing is certain, that the Moldavian youth were grossly manipulated.
Unfortunately, today countries belong not only to their peoples, but each situation in a country is fought for or against by many other more powerful states.

For years, I have been a Palestinian supporter. BUT NOW - never again. Such horrible
lies about our beautiful nation and our brave people who have been suffering and are now valiantly fighting for freedom. DOWN WITH KHAMENEI - and to hell with Palestine. You deserve your rotten fate
becuase you don't have a single democratic bone in your bodies.
