Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
John Wooden, Basketball coach
The children appear traumatized. The teachers say that when they hear a loud noise they look to the sky and cry out and weep. They don’t know what the future holds. They deserve better.
Mia Farrow, after visiting Gaza as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF

Once again Carlos has come up with a theme that can only be admired. Mother Palestine is awesome. Yesterday I found a photo of an older Bedouin woman throwing a rock, very very powerful image. She WAS/IS Mother Palestine!
I think in my years of blogging, it is a toss up between Latuff and Heine who I use most, although Dees gets much working out as well. But Carlos is the most in your face and I love the power of his statments.
Isn't it the truth Barbara! I love the work of both Ben and Carlos. I find them to be absolutely original, striking in every way and powerful.
Mother Palestine is an amazing iconic figure, and under the pen of Carlos, she fills me with emotion.
The Palestinians (and all people who Ben and Carlos support in their work) have a true friend in them, and these images communicate more than a thousand words. Every time one comes in, I sit in admiration.
I also love Mr Fish… very original work.
Hehe don't get me started on Mr. Fish!
I wrote him one time and he is totally as wild as his toons. I think the message I sent him was to watch out for assassins, he was dangerous to those who do not want us to think.
I use him a LOT in my pages also and tend to lump his stuff altogether when I do my infrequent toon pages. My toon pages are basically anarchist in content. They are NOT the regular Sunday newspaper fare!
He is a minimalist. He has that special skill to break it all down to one finely crafted image with an insight that is twisted, sick, and says what we all are thinking, only, we did not even KNOW we were thinking it until we see him put it on paper.
Interesting thing about Fishie is, in a day and age when most political cartoonists are being axed and/or struggling, he is still working for major publications. As for Ben and Carlos, they put their stuff out BEGGING you to plant it all over to get the message across to the world. That is dedication.
So there is something to be said for the truth after all!
When I began I belonged to a few cartoon networks, but I found as I became more politically savvy, I could not, simply could NOT look at the crap involved. In fact, let me find you the URL to a piece I did on cartooning…

Heck, I really thought I had a piece done JUST on political cartooning and propaganda but I guess I did not. Means I will have to do one soon! Lord as if my list of things to write about is not already almost impossible to catch up on!
Hope you take a look at my junk. LOL. Funny thing is, my earlier toons, and I put them up once or twice a week in the beginning, before I really was involved in the Middle east issues, or understood them, I was still putting them up. I remember the first time I posted a Latuff, I was worried my page would be taken down! Oh how far I have come, alhamdulillah.
