It's probably because they are very religious, I guess, but still not enough explanation. No matter how powerful is the Israel Lobby and the "Judeo-Christian" sentiment, it just makes no sense that the USA is suiciding itself to support such an ungrateful and manipulative "ally". There's a saying in Spanish that reads: "let God ward me from my friends, that from my enemies I'll take care myself". I really can't believe how can the people of the USA be so conformist and naive.
