I appreciate your boldness in decribing Islamic violence. I am a Catholic who sees the same violence in the hearts of people of my faith. Not all — but many — would rather condemn the world to another nuclear holocaust rather than risk losing their comfort or wealth or disturb their fear of change. Albert Einstein, professing no religion, worked before he died to warn against the continued use and build-up of nuclear weapons. Ther is no greater genocide — no greater insult to all humanity — than the theft of food/ medicine/ clothing/ etc. and the threat to human existence that nuclear weapons represent. It is a gross crime against humanity to possess them. If someone possesses a nuclear weapon — it means they are willing to use it.

My point is to denounce the cultural and religious leaders of my western roots — who cannot feed and house and medicate the people they serve. They use fear and intimidation to humiliate anyone who condemns their values — yet they are more violent — at least AS VIOLENT — as any Muslim.

My only power is in prayer and in seeking truth. I respect your journey toward truth and your denunciation of genocidal violence. Perhaps God will lead us both toward a determined non-violence — along the road of peace.

This can be taken in any way, but given the ease that Israel has in "inventing israelis" and "destroying Palestinians", the only thing left is to cherish the fact that Palestinians are not giving up on life, and they remain and grow.
