In 2009, when we discuss colonialism as a bygone atrocity, the Palestinians are still an un-free people. Their occupation, not just by Israel, but by its allies and complacent onlookers, is a unique form of neo-colonialism. They have been, for sixty years, occupied by a relentless body of force that has proven, through its actions, it cares first to occupy the Palestinian nation and secondly to annihilate it. If we think we are years ahead of the worst crimes in history, we had better begin to educate ourselves to the realities.
