I'm interested to know whether they gave you any feedback on your job application rejection.

I've applied for jobs at the BBC a few times, interviewed once and never received a single bit of feedback.

They are a bit of a law unto themselves in that respect.

Some fascinating details of how BBC recruitment works in practice.

If you are concerned with ethnic background it seems the BBC keep quite closely to the UK's statistics on the ethnic minority and majority. With there actually being more people from an ethnic minority in lower Grade jobs (higher than the national average – from 2001 Census), and less in higher Grade jobs.

In terms of sex, the distribution over the years is *relatively* even it seems.

While in terms of religion – well, there doesn't seem to be a complete answer, but according to details of a response to staff in Northern Island – there was equal representative of Catholics and Protestants.

So – were you discriminated against?

That I don't think you'll ever find out – although would be interesting to find out more about why they rejected you.

I wonder whether the Data Protection Act, and a Subject Access Request would be of any use in that respect?
