Are bodies that monitor corruption…. corrupt too?

By Iqbal Tamimi • Jun 28th, 2008 at 20:20 • Category: Analysis, Hasbara Deconstruction Site, Israel, Newswire, Palestine

I was looking for information for some research about international corruption. I found Israel is almost always classified with European countries, while the Palestinian authority is classified with Middle Eastern countries, even though both are occupying the same geographical area.

Such classification does not appear on a personal blog so that one might consider such deviation is due to a person’s lack of knowledge of geography, but such information happens to appear even on the websites of reputable organizations including … guess what? The website that monitors and reports on International corruption, like TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL.

Transparency International is busy keeping an eye on everyone to find how corrupt organizations or countries are, but they had no time to do their homework to classify Israel and the Palestinian authorities under the same geographical classification.

Is this a coincidence? Or this is another intelligent scheme to keep connecting Israel with civilized modern European countries, while the Palestinian authority is connected to Middle Eastern countries which are automatically identified by the media as being part of an area of aggressions, wars, conflicts, lack of many criteria that would qualify its countries to be ranked in any way other than as the third world. Even the numbering and classification is different.

Such small doses of misinformation plays a great role regarding the perception of people all over the world regarding sympathising with humane causes, or when they want to make up their minds about a decision.

Still I am wondering if there is a logical explanation to classify two states living on the same land in different categories!!!

  1. I think we can find the answer of your important question Mrs Iqbal only if we knew the reason why some group of people… are helping and supporting Israiel in occupying Palestinian and Islamic lands and breaking all the international laws while doing such evil deeds.

The supporting parties are getting benefits from the occupiers, but they will only loose if they support the land owners, and you are looking for a moral reason. So, that is why you can’t get an answer.

  2. I think we can find the answer for your important question Mrs Iqbal only if we try to investigate about the reasons which are causing some group of peoples helping and supporting Israiel in its occupying Palestinian and Islamic lands and breaking all the international laws during doing such evil deeds.

The supporting parties are getting benefits from the occupiers, but they will only loose if they support the land owners (According to their thoughts), and you are looking for a moral reason. So, that is why you can’t reach to a logical answer.

    Sorry for repeating.

  3. I had a good look at their website… There is no geographical reason for this because both are in the same area. I am going to contact this organization and ask them why they classify it this way. There is not much exposed about corruption in Israel on the site…
