Today a message of solidarity arrived from Socialdemocratic Secretary Jiri Paroubek, as well as a moving letter by Congressman Dennis Kucinich. However, Jan Bednar stated, "These are only palliatives, even if moved by good intentions. Why such a hurry to sign the Treaty with the Bush administration a few months before it's over? This project is a historical turning point for our country. Therefore, why not open a clear and democratic debate and, eventually, pick up talks with the new US administration?"
