Nafha Society for the Defence of Human Rights in Palestine sent an appeal to help the Palestinian prisoner "Mahmoud Saeed Azzam" from the town of Seelet Al Harthiya in Jenin district. This appeal came after a visit to Shatta prison where he is detained.

The Palestinian prisoner "Azzam" has been arrested from his home by Israeli authorities, after being raided and searched, and then he was transferred to the Centre prison of Jalamah.

During his imprisonment in the cells of Jalama, he was tied up to a small chair bounded by his hands and legs. His head was covered with a stinking smelly bag, and he was threatened that he will never see his home again. Then he was transferred to an isolation cells for 50 days, and deprived of his right of seeing a lawyer for 3 weeks.

Despite the long period of detention at Jalama prison, Israeli authorities did not make any charge against him, but still the Israeli forces insisted on keeping him as a prisoner for 10 years, and offered to deport him from the country.

After his stay for more than two months at Jalama prison, an intelligence officer told him about the decision of deporting him to Jordan. He refused at the beginning but after pressure on the 28/12/1997 he agreed to be deported even though it was against his preference.

On arrival at the bridge of Jordan, the Jordanian authorities refused to receive him, he was then returned to Israeli Jails.

Palestinian prisoner Mahmoud Azzam is appealing to all human rights organisations to help him. He says 10 years inside a prison without a trial is a breach of all human rights laws.

  1. Sure, Chris.. funny to see you around.. Well, as you learned from previous experiences with my blogs, your baiting is not easily tolerated, because that is all it is.

So, see you round, but not here. Ressurrect yourself somewhere else.
