What is going on today in Lebanon is just an extension of the situation in the entire region. The US and its western allies are trying to show everyone that religion is the main factor of this dispute and they are trying to cover the political motivations and especially economic interests involved in the whole process. There are two main positions in Lebanon today, on one hand a colonialist project supported by the US and its principle ally in the region, Israel, whose spokesman is the Lebanese Government itself, and on the other, a project of sovereignty conducted by the resistance movement. In fact, it is a war between those who are simply patriotic and external agents. That is why both camps are composed of several currents simultaneously; religious, sectarian, ideological, and so forth. It is important to note that Michiel Aoun, the nationalist QS (Qornet Shehwan) and the Communist parties are in line with Hezbollah?

The pro-imperialist western Lebanese government aims at pitting the National Army against the people and the resistance. Their goal is to hide behind the army because they lack popular support. It should be noted that the army establishment is still led by nationalists.

Prior to the Israeli invasion against Lebanon in 2006, there was a series of internal and external pressure to dismantle the legitimate movement of resistance in Lebanon, which is Hezbollah. This pressure increased after this group defeated the Israeli army and restored the hopes of other resistance movements in various parts of the Arab Homeland. This victory demonstrated without a doubt that resistance against globalism on the one hand, and guerrilla war on the other is still possible.

A few days ago, after the longest session in the history of the Lebanese parliament, the pro-western coalition voted to make the communication net of Hezbollah illegal, a communication system that was very effective against the Israeli army during the war last summer. This “Declaration of War” against the resistance is just another example of how the local puppets of the US and Israel are fighting against their own people, because through this action, the government is actually dismantling the main tool the resistance has to fight against the colonialist project in the region.

This is not a minor issue, it is the first time since the Taif Accords in 1989 that put an end to the civil war in the country and consecrated the legitimacy of the armed resistance of Hezbollah against Israel, that the government condemns a communication network which is part of the security apparatus of the movement and considers it an “illegal threat against the State”.

What the Lebanese Government is doing today is nothing less than the dirty work of Israel, just a few days after the US government declared once again that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization, keeping it on the “Blacklist”.

The aim here can only be to give to the US the control of the Airport and all the communication systems within the country, with the result of undermining the legitimate resistance of the people against their main target, Israel. They do this by provoking internal fights, which are easy to add to the confusion of religious disputes, just in the way they already have been doing in Iraq and in Palestine. The main reason behind the firing of the leader of the airport is that he declared that al-Hariri secretly met Bandar, the Saudi Amir, in the Airport several days before the government decided to fire him. Bandar was the only Arab who was told by Bush when the invasion against Iraq would start.

The biggest threat for a colonialist project in the region, including both the Arab ruler regimes and the western supporters, are the people and their power of resistance. To undermine this power and to create a constant climate of internal tension is the goal of anyone who is against a unified Arab nationalistic movement in the Arab Homeland.

How we can explain other than in this way the several accusations of Iranian intromission in Lebanon, even asking for the expulsion of its Ambassador and to paralyze all the flights to and from Iran due the support of the Iranian government to Hezbollah, but not a single word has been uttered against the external intromission of the US in Iraq, not a word against the allowance of a third of Qatari land surrendered in order to house a US base, not a word against external forces, armed to the teeth under the false pretext of “safeguarding democracy”, ignoring the respect of Lebanese territoriality and considering as “terrorists” a large number of its population?

France, the “motherland” keeps an important military presence in the area, focused mainly upon imposing the achievement of the recuperation of the colonialist project and once again doing the dirty work of an entity that has been oppressing an entire people for more than 60 years.

A ministerial meeting will take place in Cairo, convened by Egypt and Saudi Arabia, for what reason other than to condemn once again the right of people to resist the oppressor, as Hezbollah is doing successfully in Lebanon? Certainly these ministers will discuss ways to stop the “negative” influence that the supporters of resistance have inside the country.

Finally, it should be noted that Palestine is in the core of the conflict in Lebanon. The termination of resistance has never been devoted to ‘building’ and safeguarding Lebanon, but to protecting Israel and making it a ‘normal’ state in the Arab Homeland. But the first decision of the agents, if they succeed, will be the re-settlement of Palestinian refugees from Lebanon to…anywhere else but Palestine.

  1. I could not have said myself better Nadia Hasan.

Hizb’Allah has certainly proved to USrael, in 2000 and 2006, that it’s the only Arab group which can humiliate world’s fourth largest army supported by world’s sole super-power.

Hizb’Allah, though started as a Shi’ite resistance group against Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon - it has, with the passage of time, become the symbol of Lebanon’s independence - and thus both Sunnis and Christians has joined its ranks.

Since USrael humiliation in 34-day assault on Lebanon in 2006 - the Zionist-regimes, both in Washington and Tel Aviv has come to the conclusion that Hizb’Allah has not only become a threat to Israel’s military superiority in the Middle East, but also a solid wall against Zionists’ future invasion of Syria and Islamic Iran - and therefore, must be destroyed as a military resistance as soon as possible. In this USrael is fully supported by the shameful so-called “Sunni regimes”, so much so that they have not lifted a finger in support of their fellow Sunni resistance group Hamas.

  2. Great article, I posted it on this site as well. Hope you dont mind…

  3. bullshit
Hezobolla is the armyhand of syria mainly and iran, who demands a full control of lebanon and the lebanease people, whereas the patriotic lebanease goverment including al-Hariri and fouad el Saniora, only demands lebanon’s independce.

  4. Thanks for cross posting, Abunakhli. We only request that you also cite the source so that more people can discover the site and the writers.

Elias, like the author of the piece, I believe that there is no civil war, and that Hezbollah does not want to control Lebanon or its people. I happened to meet many people during the Bruxelles Tribunal on the Israeli war against Lebanon, and no matter if they were Sunni, Shia or Christian, those with whom I had spoken, and in fact, many of the speakers, were united in the belief that if it were not for Hezbollah, who were representing the Lebanese resistance in that moment, and who were carrying it out, right now, we would not have a Lebanon, but an Occupied Lebanon. If Siniora is so patriotic, why is he not demanding any compensation for the ungodly damage caused during the war by Israel? Where is he taking care of the interests of his people?

    In agreement with Shaukat here.

  5. Nice conspiracy theory article!

“This pressure increased after this group defeated the Israeli army and restored the hopes of other resistance movements in various parts of the Arab Homeland.”

I think it is funny when people proudly say that Hezbollah “defeated” the IDF. It is like
claiming that Egypt won the oktober war and conquered the Sinai.
May be people should keep in mind that Lebanon was almost bombed to the stone ages,
and I am sorry to remind you that the war stopped not because of the achievements of
    Hezbollah.

And I also like it when Hezbollah is called a resistance movement. As if Lebanon is occupied.
May be, the writer should ask herself how come the whole world is calling them terrorists…

  6. I agree with Nadia 100%, and the facts are also crystal clear that Nadia’s assessment is accurate and true.

Hezbollah’s history, both militarily and socially, shows that they have nothing but Lebanon’s interest as their goal. Is liberating Lebanese occupied territory of Syrian/Iranian interest? Is liberating Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails (read Occupied Palestine jails) of Syrian/Iranian interest? On the other hand, disbanding Hezbollah’s communication network is in Israel’s interest, not in Lebanon’s.

  7. Flying Dutchman - “the whole world” can sometimes be mistaken if it bases its views on propaganda. A large part of the international community also sees Israel as an apartheid and aggressor nation and yet that does not seem to register much with the MSM (at least here in the US).

  8. Very good article. Good arguments in front of the lies of the media imperialists.

  9. @Lance Thruster
Most people agree that firing unguided rockets into civilian areas is a war crime (at least here in Europe). Since Hezbollah used this as a tactic, without any trace of shame, we may call them terrorists. As you notice this has nothing to do with propaganda. It is only facts.
Those people who support this group or call them resistance and ignore their black side are not convincing to me. Actually this is the propaganda that we dont need, and because of that people may take the rest of the article not seriously.

  10. Flying Dutchman, The US, Israel and a few EU countries DO NOT the “whole world” maketh. Fortunately, the majority of the world does NOT see Hezbollah as terrorists but as a legitimate movement who until recently had two ministers in the Lebanese Parliament. Your stupid “terrorist designations” do not make them terrorists just on your minority say-so.

  11. The Israeli government routinely murders women and children and that is not crime “over there in Europe.”

The Israeli Occupation Forces have bombed Ambulances, Marked cars for news agencies, Internationally sanctioned infrastructure installations, UN guarded refugee camps and they have targeted elected officials
None of this is considered crime “over there in Europe.”

The only people who call Hizabllah terrorist are US and the five European power elites.

In contrast Every one in the world called the Nicaraguan Contra forces terrorists and that every one included US congress. But US and Europeans still continued to support the blood-thirsty Contras right through their worst atrocities that included raping and torturing an american nun.

So we know, when US, Israel and European powers call a certain person or organization “terrorist”, it means next to nothing.

I suppose, the people on the right have permanently leased out their collective brain and analytical power,
but have they forgone their conscience too?

Are the hand made rockets that are welded in the shop houses and kitchens equivalent of hellfire missiles and 500 pound bombs dropped from F16s ?

Israel does not need apologists like Flying Dutchman. Because Israel has its own war heroes.
One of them is Moshe Dyan, widely revered as a war here and he had this to say:

“We came here to a country that was populated by Arabs and we are building here a Hebrew, a Jewish state; instead of the Arab villages, Jewish villages were established. You even do not know the names of those villages, and I do not blame you because these villages no longer exist. There is not a single Jewish settlement that was not established in the place of a former Arab Village.”

—Moshe Dyan, March 19, 1969, speech at the Technion in Haifa, “Israel” quoted in Haaretz, April 4, 1969. (385 villages have been destroyed within pre-1967 Israel…)

  12. Indeed, as of last week, the mighty Hezbollah, armed to the teeth with 30,000 rockets and missiles and aligning thousands of self described “Divine soldiers” has been marching across the capital, terrorizing its population, shutting down media, taking its politicians and the Prime Minister as hostages, and looting at will. The hordes of Lebanon’s “Khomeinist Janjaweeds” have conquered already half of the Middle East’s cultural capital, Beirut. As I have reported before, Hezbollah has occupied West Beirut and has since sent its storm troops in multiple directions to resume the blitz.

The burning of TV stations in Beirut

Unstoppable, including by the Lebanese Army which Commander Michel Suleiman has allowed the slaughter to occur the Pasdaran-founded militia is now hurdling towards the Druze Mountain and positioning its forces against the Sunni North and the Christian Mount Lebanon. Ironically, the geographical bases of Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon, are well guarded by the United Nations Interim Forces (UNIFIL). Per a UNSCR 1701 in 2006, more than 10,000 international troops are stationed across the southern parts of Lebanon, technically protecting the 200 Shia towns and villages from where the bulk of Hezbollah fighters came from. Hence, free from guarding their own areas, a dozen thousands well trained “Hezbollahis” have marched north to join another 5,000 already based in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

This huge force, by Lebanon’s standards, was joined by an undetermined number of real Iranian Guards, shipped from Tehran to man sophisticated weapons offered by the Khamanei regime as a gift to topple the democratically elected Government of Fuad Seniora. In addition, from the four corners of the country, Jihadist and ultra radical organizations have joined the fray including: The Nazi-like SSNP, the Amal Movement, the Wi’amWahhab pro-Syrian militia, and many others. And to top it, Damascus was able to neutralize the Lebanese Army which has been equipped recently by the United States. Its Commander, a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic was “convinced” by the Assad regime to open the passages to Beirut and all other regions for the hordes to thrust into their enemies’ backyards. Reminding us of the tales of Greek Antiquity, this Xerxes -Khomeinist- Army burst into the capital, whipping out the thin internal security forces and reigning with brutality.

Hezbollah’s “Immortal Guards” against the “300″?

hezbollah wages war on druze 20.jpgAfter securing the Muslim side of the city, the “Immortal Guards” -since most of the Hezbollahis believe in martyrdom as a path to eternal after-life, encircled the mostly Druze Mountain from all directions. Closing in from the coast, the south and the Bekaa, thousands of fighters and their heavy artillery were ordered into battle this week end. The massive “Persian” Army is now attempting to take these passes into the Bekaa and from there into the North and the Christian Mountain. In a sense these may become Lebanon’s Thermopylae: A vast Hezbollah Iranian-backed Army unleashing its power against few Lebanese Spartans, to dislodge them and open the paths for the rest of the country. Indeed, it looks like the few hundred Druze fighters in Aley and the Shuf -who have decided to fight on their own, may become Lebanon’s “300″. The vision is chilling. Despite the calls by their leader Walid Jumblatt, now hostage to the Pasdaran in Beirut, to desist from resisting, the mountainous peasants decided to fight and resist the onslaught. The balance of power is terribly uneven. The forces of Hassan Nasrallah, hyper armed by “Xerxes” Ahmedinijad, line up thousands of soldiers, Special Forces, missiles and endless containers of ammunition. They have hardened their battle experience through years of fighting against a powerful Israeli Army, Air Force and Navy. Nasrallah is convinced that his Army of Suicide-bombers has defeated the region’s nuclear super power in 2006. Hence, a few “hundreds” of Druses won’t even stand for a day. Logically, he is correct. The Lebanese Army was tamed by Hezbollah, the Sunnis of Beirut collapsed in few hours, the Christians are intimidated, the U.S and Europe fears Hezbollah’s Terror and the Arab regimes are terrified by his myth. Who on Earth will resist the Khomeinist Xerxes? Well so far, Lebanon’s 300 have.

    The Grand Hezbollah Plan

The first waves of attacks launched by the Iranian backed forces aimed at seizing the first portion of the strategic Damascus Highway (the I-70 of Lebanon) linking Beirut to the Syrian border via the Mountain. The offensive began from Kayfoun towards Baysur. Instead of seizing terrain, Hezbollah lost Kayfoun with heavy casualties (about 23 killed) and the Druze fighters of the Socialist Party planted their flag on the enemy bunker before they pulled back to their positions. The Iranian commanders were stunned by these mountain “Rangers.” But the Druze had only AK 47 with one or two clips of ammunitions; rarely an RPG. While the whole of Lebanon was watching with fear, awaiting their turn, the “300″ were repelling the waves of “Immortal Hezbollah” who in fact got very mortal in 24 hours. Another battle raged in Aley and the “Persians” lost again: 9 casualties or so: Among the bodies, three Iranians. Near Aley the strategic hill 888 was assaulted repetitively but the defenders repelled the “Guards.” Later on, the Druze transferred the hill to the Lebanese Army. Nasrallah’s troops then stormed Deir Qubal but were pushed back towards the surrounding hills. Hezbollah tried to seize Ein Unub but again the attack failed.

    Druze clerics Hezbollah Guard

Then Hezbollah ordered its forces to advance on the coastal axis towards Shouifat. There, the Druze pulled back inside the town allowing the “Hezbos” to take the control of the beaches and the adjacent roads. But when the Iranian backed militias moved toward the neighborhoods, their advance was stopped. Frustrated the “Xerxes” War Room decided the grand assault by early Monday: More than 2,000 Khomeinist-trained commandos took the back roads to the Barouk Mountain coming from the southern Bekaa. Their target are the Ma’aser heights and from there to the district capital of the Shouf, Mukhtara. From south Lebanon, the hordes of Hezbollah are marching across Jezzine, Toumate heights in Niha el Shouf into the southern frontiers of the Druze lands. According to reports, 5000 Hezbollah/Iranian/Syrian infantry, backed by rockets and artillery are to close in from the south. The Druze, youth and elderly, have mobilized all they could, but are isolated with little ammunition. Their adversaries are numerous, well equipped, fanaticized and have their supply lines opened to Syria and via Damascus, to Iran. The tableau looks like a real collection of small Thermopylae where the “300″ of Lebanon will be fighting a Goliath.

    Pasdaran and Hezbollah’s forces

But irony is that the United States and other Democracies, whose forces are present in the area and ships cruising the waters along the Eastern Mediterranean, and who have committed to fight terror around the globe may be watching these “300″ falling in this epic fight. The greater irony is that these peasants of Mount Lebanon have withstood the mighty machine of Hezbollah for three days and maybe for a few more, while the standing myth internationally was that no one on Earth can defeat this Terror force. Well, for few days the myth of invincibility of Hezbollah was shattered. Eventually if the powers -who have already spent 500 billion dollars on the War on terror- would fail the Lebanese “300″ in their mountains, the legend will be owned by the those little intrepid and courageous peasants. But if Washington and Paris would quickly assume their strategic responsibilities -which they initiated by voting UNSCR 1559 to liberate Lebanon- then perhaps Khomeinist-Terror won’t plant its banners on the Eastern Mediterranean.

  13. The propaganda from THERAN IS SENSORD ?

  14. @PeaceMonger & Payman
so, if I understand you correctly the indiscriminate bombing of civilians with rockets is not regarded as a war crime by you? How would you call this then? Self defense? Resistance? Isn’t international law applicable for everyone? Please, explain me which definiton of terrorist you use for yourself.

Who says that Europe doesnt consider violations of international law by Israel as a crime? Appearantly you are a victim of anti-europe propaganda. What disturbes me most is that you suggest that because Israel is committing war crimes and according to you, no one seems to care, I as a european, don’t have the right to observe that Hezbollah is a terrorists organization.

And, where did I defend Israels politics so you can call me an israel apologist? Or, do you think it is impossible to see things as they are, without being an israel apologist?

  15. ahmed al-arabi I think your name should be cohin al-sahyoni

  16. [...] Link « Food Crisis Hits Fallujah [...]

  17. Ignoring whining of professional Zionist propagandist liers – who believe that it’s okey for Zionazi Jews to occupy and murder innocent native Semite Palestinians on daily basis, but anyone who stand-up to these Jewish bullies – is a ‘terrorist”….Here is a link to what is going on in Lebanon for the benefit of USrael:

    http://tadamon.resist.ca/index.php/post/1416

  18. There has been reference made to “unguided” rockets. Use of unguided rockets in modern warfare is very rare, any more than “unguided” artillery shells. I would expect that in terms of number, all sides fire more “unguided” rockets than guided rockets. Rockets without an internal guidance system are guided by pointing them when they are launched, like artillery shells. Longer range “unguided” rockets follow a ballistic trajectory after their propellant burns out. Helicopters are typically armed with many “unguided” air-to-ground rockets.

  19. Hezbollah is a threat to the peace , another Bush`s lie
That fake peace process had lead the Arab world to be fractions, there is no unforeseen hope in restoring the Palestinian Lands by the so called peace process, BUT only by MILITARY RESISTANCE
The Israelis who been transfered from all over Europe to the Arab land of Palestine had forgot that European countries had rejected them and expel them and at they falsely claim killed them in the so called holocaust in Gemany
Now The the offender and the victim were allied in killing innocent people of Palestine and damaging their homes, villages, …etc
Thanks to the Great Satan known as USA , whom in cooperation with their puppet Israel and some Other traitors in the Arab World who Forgot what had been done to the Arab world by the West since the begining of the 19th century
What is going now is a continuation to the erican/Israeli Project backed unfortunately by the European union, with some help from Inside
Saudia Arabia, Jordan, and the new comer Egypt form the Arab countries are the facilitators of that project
Saudis through their very old relations with the USA and Bush Family using their Money
Jordan as an old country in dealing with the Israelis and the Americans from under the table using their intelligence which had been trained in and loyal to the Americans and may be to Israelis
And finally Egypt who had lost during the last 30 years not only it`s role but also it`s economy , it`s credibility and so many other things
As for Lebanon, The Americans are looking for a bridge head to hit Syria and Iran to complete it`s encirclement of Russia in the north, China in the north East and to guarantee oil supplies to the State and to deprive oil supplies to the new world power China
Israel having to purposes first their promised land according to the Old testament extends from Euphrates to the Nile, so they want to had their eastern border ( they do not have any international borders yet) also by controlling this part of land they might solve their major problem which is the WATER
So they have several allies inside Lebanon
The phalangist murderer and their old allied treater Samir Geagea`s
The hoer like duruuz Leader Waleed Gimblat, who used to take money from whoever to do whatever who at the last crisis allied with the Saudi money against his own people with the Americans and the french intelligence and may be the Mosad too
Saad Hariri the Sunni multi millionaire, leader of the future party (after his late father Rafik Hariri) who through out his Saudi nationality and relations with the royal family, and through a repeated consulting visits to France ( who still imagine that they could play their old role and influence over Lebanon) and the USA who wanted with it`s superior! Neocons Strategy that imagined that they are going to inherit and rule the world tried to make himself a Leader through allying with the above mentioned
Besides the Puppet Seniora, voice of Israel in the Lebanese cabinet , who was suspected to have relation with the killing of late Rafik Harriri
backed by Marwan hamada the French intelligence employee and Ahmed Fatfat and some others
Those Group of Christian and Muslim allies are allied to enforce the Western agenda in Lebanon
The other group who are the oppositions mainly symbolized by Hizballah !? has in it`s structure Shiat Muslims, Sunni Muslims, Christians
Those are the honorable people who chose the resistance option, those are the arrow head in the heart of Israel and the USA
By the way I am a Sunni , but believe me when I say that this is the only light of hope to the LOYAL Arabs and Muslims
Hizbollah Leader Shikh Hassan Nasr Allah has lost at least one son over the Arab/Israeli struggle, he is a man of just and he is a humble person Respects his and our enemy why should not he respect his country and his fellow people
If such a person is trying to take over the rule of his country he could had been did it within 24 hours , but he did`nt
Please Read the History , Read the old testament, and never forget or beleive that we forget that our mutual enemy is ISRAEL/ USA as mentioned as USRAEL
