Song for “Israel’s” Birthday “Do they know it’s Apartheid?”
By Mary Rizzo • Apr 27th, 2008 at 11:06 • Category: Grassroots Activism, Israel, ZionismDave at Israel’s 60th Birthday came upon an interesting scoop. Trevor Horn (ex Buggles, ex Yes) is promoting a disc for the worst birthday party in the world. Dave has suggested lyrics for the new Band Aid turned Apartheid Aid CD. The rest is his post:
Anyone want to make our own youtube video to counter theirs?
It’s Birthdaytime
There’s probably lots of reasons to be afraid
At Birthdaytime, we let in Jews and Palestinians we degrade
And in our world of plenty we can spread an apartheid wall
Grab your arms all around Israel at BirthdaytimeBut say a prayer
But not for the ‘other ones’
At Birthdaytime it’s hard, but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window [its called Palestine]
And it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Birthday bells that ring there are the clanging
Al-Nakba chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you
And there might be ’summer rain’ in Gaza this Birthdaytime
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where only Israeli settlements ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow [cause Israel's draining all the water]
Do they know it’s Birthdaytime at all?(Here’s to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here’s to them) let them die underneath an F16s burning bomb
Do they know it’s Birthdaytime at all?Fuck the world
Fuck the worldFuck the world
Let them know we’ll never accept a UN resolution again
