Disgrace for Democracy: 51 Palestinian MPs and Ministers are Detained in Israeli prisons along with 11.870 Palestinian citizens
A serious crime and new political slap in the face for democracy is committed by the Zionist system against representatives of the Palestinian people by the abduction of the Palestinian ministers and MPs.
The latest of which was the arrest of MP Ahmed al-Haj from the city of Nablus on 16/12/2007. Al-Haj is over Seventy-years old.
Earlier on the 10th MP Dr. Maryiam Saleh Minister for Women in the Palestinian government has been abducted too. Dr Mariyam is a member in the Legislative Council from Ramallah governorate.
The Minister of Palestinian Prisoner is in prison since many years… for the fifth time.
There are more than 11.870 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, 117 of them are mothers. Some give birth while chained, and their children are forced to live in the cells where they do not live their childhood or play or go out.
I don’t have to tell you about lack of healthy conditions, or medical negligence. Some prisoners are denied warm clothes sent to them by their families. They are held in 30 different prisons, and detention centers. 1189 prisoners are schools, collage, and universities students of both genders, 330 of the detained are children. Not only the students were detained, but their teachers too, there are 107 Palestinian teachers in Israeli prisons. 1150 Palestinian prisoners suffer acute illnesses.
A large number of the detained are denied visits by family members.
Thousands of Palestinian detainees in the Negev desert prison and other detention camps such as Ofer prison near the town of Ramallah, Hawara, Qadumim, Megiddo, Nafha, Beer Sheva, Ashkelon and other prisons are shivering from the cold under waves of rain and snowfall coming from northern regions of the world especially that some are detained inside tents made of cloth surrounded by walls open to the cruel cold of the desert, living in wet tents caused by snow falls and rain, sleeping on boards made of wood which gets soaked wet.
Soon, April 17th is the International day of prisoners. I hope you can join in denouncing what the Israeli government is doing to those prisoners, and demand their release to join their families.
Do not rely on journalism to get the news, journalists were the first to be attacked and harassed so that you do not know what was going on.
The records documented 1147 aggressive attacks on journalists by the Israelis. Only between 28th of September 2000, and 31st of March 2007.
Please sign the petition and buy those prisoners some happiness.
We are hoping to get at least 11.000 signitures, one for each prisoner, and present this petition to International Human Rights bodies like Amnesty International, and United Nations. Please Circulate this petition to all the people you can get the message through to them. It is about time we show solidarity for each other on human level.

It’s so sad that these children should endure such shocking experiences by the hand of the so called “democratic” state of “Israel”. I am enraged by the world that can just look by at these facts and feels no pity for Palestinians that are suffering from 1948 and it seems to be no end in sight.
I am also amazed by the easiness with which many Israelis and pro-”Israel” Jewish just don’t admit what happened in the past and in the present time, what their so loved country was able to do and they justify every horrorific behavour by “Israel”. They are indeed in bad faith and they know it.
The best I can do, as a Swiss citizen, is to print this story and send it to our Foreign Minister, Ms. Calmy-Rey, requesting her to intervene with all the means at her disposal and lettin her know that more and more people are fully aware of the Palestinian tragedy.
A representative of Hamas is due to have a public conference this coming week in Geneva. I hope it will be well attended.
Israel, I say to you - There are no excuses for your gross acts of inhumanity against the Palestinian people. There are no excuses that justify taking Palestinian children from their families and homes and placing them in Israeli prisons. There are no excuses that justify imprisoning Palestinian women and children. There are no excuses that justify the denial of drugs and medical treatment to the very ill - the infants, the children, the elderly, the pregnant women and the men.
There are no excuses that justify disallowing these people the right to attend hospital. There are no excuses in allowing them to die because you have denied them their human right to medical assistance. There are no excuses that justifies bulldozing family homes and destroying their crops.
Look at yourselves as we see you. An army of cowards, without honour, more akin to hoodlums. who are bereft of respect for humanity. Look at yourselves. looking smug and secure hiding behind, your mountains of military equipment. Look in the mirror and see the gleam in your cowardly eyes, as you take advantage of the powerless women and children, and carry out your gross acts of humanity against them.
As a mother, I say to you “How dare you! I demand you immediately, open wide the locked doors of your your dark caged dungeons of imprisonment, where you carry out your acts of human-misery against women and children. I demand you then immediately return these precious women and children to their rightful homes in Gaza, where they rightfully belong; and where they can live freely, just as your women and children do in Israel.. And as a mother, I say to you - For goodness sake! I want no nonsense now, get on with it! You have no excuse whatsoever, for not doing this immediately!

Israel should feel deep shame as should we all for allowing the systematic terror that the Palestinians have been subject to over the years. The Zionist movement, having established a secular State, can not now hide behind the shield of religious tolerance. They must accept and deal with their critics, and answer for their crimes against the Palestinian people. Their acts, if done by any other State, would be denounced as genocide. Their self-serving media bias and double standards must end. Their evil must end. How a people subjected to the Nazi holocaust could support a government that uses deadly force and torture against children is as sad as it is shocking. Israel has turned from a light unto the world into a pariah among civilized peoples. What is worse, they have perpetrated their crimes against innocent Palestinians with the collusion of the United States government. Isn’t it time for the United States to stop all military aid to Israel? By its actions, the Israeli state is sowing the seeds of its own destruction. The demographics are on the side of the Arabs, and unless Israel makes peace with its neighbors, population alone will push Israel into the sea. Israelis such as Yuri Avnery understand this, but his pleas to his countrymen have so far fallen on deaf ears.
This is about territory, and de-legitimizing (read: “neutralizing”) the political party which actually won the last Palestinian elections which were characterized as primarily free and fair.
How in the world can you justify inflicting a “holocaust” against people whose land you immorally occupy? If you were the true decendants of the holocaust then how could you threaten such a thing against people who had nothing whatsoever to do with it? Remember the Lavon affair? In 1954, Israeli agents working in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including a United States diplomatic facility, and left evidence behind implicating Arabs as the culprits. The ruse would have worked, had not one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to capture and identify one of the bombers, which in turn led to the round up of an Israeli spy ring. There has been so many documented false flag terrorism events from Israel’s Zionist Mossad in the past 60 years that it could fill a book.
Who has benefited from the 9/11/01 murders? Look at the Israeli/Massad agents who publicly stated on Israeli television that they had traveled to New York to “document the event”. How does one “document an event” without having foreknowledge of the event? A 9/11/01 witness saw them dancing on the roof of a moving van laughing and cheering as the Twin Towers collapsed and reported the suspicious activity to the local police. Shortly afterward, New York policemen observed this van on a bridge and pulled it over. After finding C4, explosive residue and large amounts of cash inside the van, the suspects were detained for questioning and investigation. Much to the dismay of the arresting officers, their release from custody was ordered (possibly from Michael Chertoff who is a dual Israeli-American citizen) from “higher ups” and they were allowed to leave the US. Curiously, members of the Bin Laden family were also allowed to leave the US during a time when all of our commercial flights were grounded.
Now, consider who is sending our children to die in illegal and immoral proxy wars of aggression. Anti-AIPAC = Anti-Semitism? Give me a break! Zionists have less claims on Judaism than than the KKK has on Christianity. Both are racist, morally bankrupt elements that exploit someone else’s religion as a shield for it’s moral turpitude. Zionism = Atheism. Period. Take a good look outside the Zionist owned “corporate mainstream media” and one can clearly see the unbridled hatred they harbor for true Christianity or any kind of religion for that matter. Now consider at who is occupying whom in the Mid East. Who invited you? Who has more nuclear weapons than anyone else in that turbulent part of the world? Who is violating whose human rights with racist apartheid tactics? Who is murdering whose women and children at a rate of 300 + to 1? I would like to do what the Swiss citizen above has done, that is, send this article to U.S. government officials who are supposed to represent our, the American people’s, interests. I have tried to do so with other articles, as well as with transcribed information from Al Mezan articles from Gaza, for instance, but many, perhaps the majority, of U.S. government officials have Zionist American Jews in leadership positions on their staffs, and those staffers see to it that their bosses never see such articles. Moreover, the Israeli Mossad and Israeli military have access to practically all American internal communications systems because Israeli companies contracted to construct and maintain those systems, and the Israelis are thus able to monitor anti-Zionist Americans and retaliate against them, with the blessing of the U.S. government! They thus are also able to blackmail American officials, who they know have committed crimes because of their monitoring activities, to do whatever the Israelis want. In addition, American Zionist Jews have control of the American media and film industry to such an extent that most Americans are deeply brainwashed in favor of Zionist Israel, and American Zionist groups such as AIPAC (America-Israel Political Action Committee) have American officials and public figures so intimidated and fearful at being branded “Anti-Semitic” for the slightest criticism of Israel, that the Israelis are in near complete control of the United States.

It is certainly a criminal act. But the ‘Terrorist Nation - the Israel’ is doing with the support from UN, USA, UK and all other Europian countries. These country always support the activities of the ‘Terrorist Nation - the Israel’. For the sake of justice and world peace the ‘Terrorist Nation - the Israel’ and it’s supporter must stop heinous type of activities.
It is such a horrendous history for the Palestinian people after 60 years. One cannot conceive that this kind of humility, torture, genocide can happen in a supposed enlightened world! OK I appreciate the owner of this group opinion about their back ground which differ than me. but i as a Muslim, would like to let people know that, ISLAM means WAY OF LIFE…so we just cannot escape by relating our comments to the Religion, everything, every day life is bound to my Religion.
I dont want to spoil this party of agreeing people, but I have few questions…
Anyone agrees that innocent people (like children) do not belong in jail.
But everyone here seems so convinced that all 11,000 prisoners are innocent people.
I am quite sure there are many palestinians with “blood on their hands” in prison. Do you honestly think those people should be released as well? In other words, do you people support terrorism?
It is a pity, saddening and sickening that the so-called first country who always want the oportunity to fight for democratic rights of others, freedom of expression and speech and honour to life are damn silent. But you cannot expect them to do that for they have no interests in the occupied territories. Their interest is the survival of the illegal state of Israel and the choking till death of the Palestinians. Remember it was the saying of Rabbi Dov Lior: “We all deserve to see our country cleansed”. And of another: “The only good Palestinian is the one who is dead”. Also of former Chief Rabbi in Israel, Avvrahama Shapira who said: “Jews rights override non-Jews rights”. All in all, all people of good will the world over should join hands to making sure that the rights of the Palestinians to self determination is achieved come what may. And to our Palestinian brethren, be patient for a little while and victory will be yours. There is no hardship which stays for ever for after hardships comes easiness.
Flying Dutchman, I don’t know if you are aware, but there is such a thing as “humane treatment” even of prisoners that must be respected no matter who the prisoner is or what they may or may not be accused of having done.
If you are unaware, you should know that most of the prisoners in Israeli cells have not had a trial. Many have not even been formally accused! Almost all of them are denied the things that are considered normal anywhere but in torture chambers. They have restrictions on visiting rights, they are not given adequate clothing, blankets, matresses, hygienic supplies or space. In a “great democracy”, one is able to judge how good they are by the treatment of their prisoners. Israel fails on every count, and this is widely documented.
The fact that they consider Paletinian minors to be two years younger than their own says a great deal. The fact that they would imprison minors with adults is also indicative.
Mary Rizzo, I agree prisoners should be given a humane treatment and a fair trial etc. I can understand you demand fair trials and humane treatment for palestinian prisoners in israeli jails.
However, the fact that palestinians are not equally treated as jews in Israel does not imply that all palistinian prisoners are innocent! So, why not a petition for fair treatment of palestinians rather than demanding to release all prisoners including the thiefs, murderers and terrorists?

Those people are political prisoners in Israeli jails; this is why this petition is done. They are not thieves… they did not steal other people’s lands and homes. They are not murderers… the murderers are the Israeli forces that keep killing children every single day…. they are not terrorists, and they were not given the chance for even a trial, some of them are very old and sick. I find your attitude towards those prisoners extremely wearied…You have jumped from this subject to divert the whole thing away. Regarding Hamas, Hamas has emerged in later years, and Israel has been there torturing Palestinians for 60 years. Even if Hamas was removed totally from the universe, I’m sure you will find another group to blame for keeping 11.000 people in jails.

Part of those people are political prisoners, as is clear from the sentence: “51 Palestinian MPs and Ministers are Detained in Israeli prisons along with 11.870 Palestinian citizens”. What the other 11.870 people are in jail for, is not clear from this article. Some of them might be politicians, others may be terrorists, and some might be totally inoccent. I dont think, you are making a strong point, if you demand to release ALL prisoners, because SOME of them are inoccent ! This petition will not be taken seriously, because it is unreasonable.
I dont suggest that you have to solve the problems of the palestinians in arab countries first. I just notice it is peculiar that criticism towards arab countries concerning the problems of palestinian is absent. If you think, you make a strong impression when you close your eyes for your own mistakes and those of your arab brothers you are wrong.
As an outsider of the conflict, I think you can make a better impression if you ask attention for the human rights situation of palestinian prisoners in general, and to demand the release of innocent people and political prisoners in Israel. Sure Flying Dutchman… we don’t know what the charges are because so many have never even been charged! Simply rounded up and arrested… Administrative Detention, they call it. How many Palestinians commit murder or whatever it is you think in Israel? I’d say that there aren’t more than a handful. How many have been arrested for being involved in a demonstration? How about the big prison of Gaza where.1.5 million people are being cut off from the outside world. How about the apartheid wall that imprisoned most of the Palestinians from all sides, but kept the roof open to call God. Even the roof is under the mercy of Israeli planes. When the Israeli soldier orders a Palestinian woman not to put her washing on the line, she would not dare to do otherwise.
